Welcome to the Information Engineering Group

The Information Engineering Group was started in 2002 as a cooperation between the School of Engineering at Jönköping University and the German Fraunhofer-Institute for Software and Systems Engineering ISST in an effort to combine Fraunhofer know-how for innovative IT-solutions with competence from Jönköping University regarding small business research. Joint projects, exchange of personnel and research visits contribute to the close integration between Swedish and German research activities.

The group is today one half of the Centre for Evolving IT in Networked Organisations (CenIT) that was founded in 2006 as a cooperation between Information Engineering at School of Engineering and the informatics department at Jönköping International Business School at Jönköping University.

Fraunhofer research in Jönköping focuses on two areas with particular relevance for industries in South of Sweden:
  • information logistics
  • domain engineering
In both areas, we offer contracted research including feasibility studies and technology roadmaps, conceptualisation and design of innovative systems, implementation of prototypes evaluation of existing solutions. Read more about our research.

Both the group and CenIT collaborate with many other institutions, enterprises, and organisations on a project basis. We also have several long term partners with which we closely cooperate in both research and education:

The Fraunhofer-Institute for Software and Systems Engineering (ISST)
The German organisation Fraunhofer is Europe's largest research institute divided into several different institutes spread all over Germany. Fraunhofer ISST has offices in both Berlin and Dortmund.
